BRIEF: Restaurant operators can get health insurance update at El Paso meeting

May 17--Health insurance and restaurant industry experts will provide updates for restaurant operators on issues tied to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, at an El Paso meeting Tuesday.

The speakers will be Lance Pendley, a health insurance consultant for McGriff Seibels & Williams, an Alabama-based insurance brokerage; Tim Sekiya, director of insurance for the Texas Restaurant Association; and Debbi Toh, chief financial officer for the state association.

"Although some Affordable Care Act mandates have been temporarily delayed, all employers still must comply with reporting requirements that we have not typically had to fulfill," noted Anthony Duncan, owner of Hudson's Grill in El Paso. "In addition to employer requirements, our employees face mandates and are turning to us to help answer questions."
