BRIEF: Butte man accused of DUI with child in the backseat, faces felony

June 30--A Butte man faces a felony charge of child endangerment for driving under the influence with a 9-year-old kid in the backseat.

Shane Patrick Denton, 49, is accused of doing 41 mph in a 25 mph zone while intoxicated.

Denton posted bond of $16, 580 after his Saturday arrest. He faces a felony charge of criminal child endangerment along with misdemeanors of speeding, DUI, criminal contempt and no insurance.

His other passenger, Susan Lynn Denton, remains in jail on $40,000 worth of warrants from Washington. Police say she attempted to give them a fake name. She will face extradition on the charges.
