Austin Businesses and Rock Stars Band Together for Critically Needed Liver Transplant

AUSTIN, Texas, May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Former members of legendary rock band "Boston,"  and Austin businesses including Brad Womack's (The Bachelor) downtown 6th Street venues. AMFM Studios and others have joined together to promote Organ Donor Awareness for the sake of Tammy Miranda, an Austin booking agent who has learned she has less than a year to live.  A benefit concert/silent auction featuring former lead singer of legendary supergroup "Boston", Fran Cosmo, will be held June 19th at brand new venue The Stage on6th Street.

Tammy has a rare autoimmune genetic condition that causes the liver to fail. She is caught in a catch-22 too many Americans can relate to - she makes too much money to qualify for Medicaid, and can't buy insurance because her case is considered "catastrophic."
