ArgoGlobal SE: Branch Office Opened in Zurich

Argo Group International Holdings, an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products, announced that its European subsidiary, ArgoGlobal SE, has received a license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) to conduct business through its new branch office in Zurich.

According to a release, ArgoGlobal SE, will now write professional liability business through its Zurich office. Additionally, another subsidiary of Argo Group, Argonaut Services GmbH t/a Argonaut Services, domiciled in Zurich, has recently been approved by Lloyd's as a service company for Syndicate 1200.

"This concludes yet another step in Argo Group's progression in establishing itself as a specialty insurer in a select, yet diverse number of geographies. The dual risk carrier ability we now have in Switzerland offers our clients a further dimension of differentiation compared to many of our competitors," explained Mark Peeters, chief executive officer of ArgoGlobal SE.

"Continuing with the innovative approach we've brought to the market in our core professional liability product lines, we intend to build upon the solid reputation we've established in Europe," added Magnus Heimann, professional liability underwriting manager.

Samuel Knoepfel has joined ArgoGlobal SE as director of marketing and country manager for Switzerland. Knoepfel will be based in the company's Zurich office.

ArgoGlobal SE, a subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, is based in Sliema, Malta and is authorized by the Maltese Financial Services Authority to carry on General Insurance Business.
