Arch Insurance Group Names Richard L. Richiski EVP of the Accident & Health Division
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Arch Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Arch Capital Group Ltd., announced today that Richard L. Richiski has been named Executive Vice President of Arch’s Accident & Health (A&H) Division effective May 10, 2010.
Based in Jersey City at Arch Insurance Group’s U.S. headquarters, Mr. Richiski will be responsible for the reinvigoration of the A&H operation, as well as overseeing the strategy, underwriting and operations of the unit.
Mr. Richiski will report to Michael R. Murphy, President of Arch’s Property & Casualty Group. “Whenever we have the opportunity to add talent to our team and increase our product capabilities, we do so. Dick Richiski is an example of that philosophy. We are excited to bolster our standing in the A&H marketplace and with his deep expertise, we will be in position to offer increased leading solutions to clients and their brokers,” said Murphy.

Mr. Richiski spent the past 14 years with Zurich--most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Distribution & Regional Management, Specialties Products at Zurich American Insurance Company. There, he oversaw seven regions and was responsible for the execution of the Specialty Products financial and regional operational plans. Prior to that role, he held other executive positions in their Specialties Products and A&H areas.
Before joining Zurich, he served as Executive Vice President of the Commercial Life Insurance Company at Unum Corporation and prior to Unum, he began his insurance career with Continental Corporation, holding various executive positions there.
Mr. Richiski received his B.A. from Colgate University and holds a CLU designation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP).
