The Saints (3-5, 4-7) scored twice in the first and once more in the second to take a quick 3-0 lead. The Bullfrogs plated three runs in the third, but Jeff Hinderks hit a solo home run leading off the bottom half of the third to put the Saints back in front.

Shawn Dollerschell singled in Tyler Seehusen to tie the game at 4-4 in the seventh for the visiting Bullfrogs, but again Sacred Heart answered in the bottom half of the inning as Ryan Hebrink doubled to start things off and later scored on Jeremy Hinderks' single.

The Saints then added three insurance runs in the eighth, highlighted by Jeremy Hinderks' two-run single. On the mound, Hinderks struck out eight and scattered eight hits and four walks.

Bird Island will celebrate Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday. The team also will honor BOLD spring sports.
