RESTON, Va., April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --Access Systems, Inc. (ACCESS), an information technology (IT) services provider headquartered in Reston, Va., today announced the appointment of Luigi D'Amato as chief financial officer (CFO). He oversees all financial operations for the company and reports directly to David E. Gardner, COO for ACCESS.

As CFO, D'Amato will lead all accounting and financial functions of the company, including ACCESS' indirect cost structure and competitive rates development. He will also focus on strategies to increase market penetration organically and through acquisitions and to improve ACCESS' competitive standing in the marketplace. D'Amato's proven track record in profit and loss improvement, cash flow, and treasury and risk management will support ACCESS' plans for solid and sustainable growth.

D'Amato brings to ACCESS over 20 years of experience in the federal defense industry, more notably in the Cost Accounting Standard (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. He has worked for a Fortune 100 company as well as highly successful mid-tiers, both in the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as CFO for L-3's Marine Services Group and was a past controller/vice president at L-3 Government Services; earlier positions include vice president of finance/controller for Titan Corp.

D'Amato graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Accounting from the University of Rome, Italy. He earned an MBA from the KOGOD Business School at the American University, in Washington, D.C. D'Amato brings to ACCESS knowledge of international taxation and international business models. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian due to the years he spent conducting business in Germany, Panama, the Bahamas, Italy and India.

"Luigi delivers to ACCESS all the benefits of two decades of financial leadership within the government contracting community," said Gardner. "His process and performance expertise perfectly complement our executive team."

"We are highly confident that Luigi's track record of delivering results in a variety of environments will only support our future growth," said Julie S. Lee, president and CEO of Access Systems, Inc. "We are so happy to have him."
