AXIS Capital Holdings Names Joe England as Chief Underwriting Officer Int’l Division, AXIS Insurance

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited announced that Joe England has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, International Division at AXIS Insurance.
In a release, AXIS Capital said this is a new position that will report directly to Mark Gregory, CEO of the International Division, AXIS Insurance.
England will retain his leadership roles as both the CEO and CUO of AXIS Specialty Europe SE.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Gregory said, "Joe has been closely involved in the day-to-day underwriting of our Specialty Lines across the Division for a number of years. During this time, he has developed considerable experience and knowledge over a broad range of our business, and is particularly well-qualified to assume this new role."
Prior to joining AXIS Capital in 2004, England was responsible for ACE's Marine Cargo & Specie London Market underwriting, and for the UK retail Marine & Risk Management survey operations of ACE Europe. England began his insurance career with the FLP Secretan Syndicate at Lloyd's in 1989.
AXIS Capital is a Bermuda-based global provider of specialty lines insurance and treaty reinsurance with shareholders' equity attributable to AXIS Capital at March 31, of $5.8 billion and locations in Bermuda, the United States, Europe, Singapore, Canada, Australia and Latin America.
