Retirement Rescue for Women
Statistically, women live longer than men, which stands to reason that they would need more money saved away for retirement. Our next webinar will delve into the findings of Transamerica Institute’s latest study on women’s retirement and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic leaving many women’s finances stretched thin.
Catherine Collinson, CEO and President of nonprofit Transamerica Institute for Retirement Readiness, will be addressing why women are at risk of financial insecurity and how you can help them rescue their retirement. Despite progress made in recent decades, women are at greater risk of not achieving a secure retirement due to several factors including taking time out of the workforce for caregiving and parenting roles that come without a paycheck. Catherine will dive into the findings of the survey and discuss how these factors result in:
- Lower lifetime earnings
- Less ability to save
- Less access to employer-sponsored retirement benefits
- Potentially lower Social Security benefits in retirement
