LIMRA and LOMA are canceling all industry meetings and conferences through April due to coronavirus concerns.
"Our commitment to the health and safety of our attendees, speakers and staff is our highest priority," the organization said in a news release. "As such, the company has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the face-to-face component" of the following conferences:
2020 Customer Experience Conference, scheduled for March 25-27 in New Orleans
2020 Regulatory Compliance Exchange, scheduled for March 31-April 2 in Orlando
2020 Life Insurance Conference, scheduled for April 20-22 in Salt Lake City
2020 Retirement Industry Conference, scheduled for April 22-24 in Salt Lake City
Restrictions on non-essential travel implemented by many of LIMRA and LOMA member firms and other organizations have impacted the ability of speakers, sponsors and other attendees to participate in these events, the release said.
The company also considered public health and travel advisories, difficulties with domestic air travel, and other recent events related to the spread of coronavirus.
"Nevertheless, we are looking for ways to virtually deliver some of the valuable content in a timely manner and will keep you posted on such developments and learning opportunities," the release added.
The company will refund 100% of the registration fee within 30 days.
