Science and Technology Facilities Council: UKRI SPF Clean Air – Scoping Workshop

SWINDON, England, Dec. 4 -- The Science and Technology Facilities Council issued the following news:

The Strategic Priorities Fund (SPF) Clean Air programme is planning a series of workshops in early 2020 to scope upcoming funding opportunities through the programme.

These events are an opportunity for the research and stakeholder community to engage with the programme funders to learn more about the aims of the programme and the research and innovation already underway, and to shape our thinking on the scope of future funding opportunities.

The Clean Air programme is a pound sterling42.5 million research and innovation investment supported through the UK Research and Innovation Strategic Priorities Fund. The aim is to bring together the UK's world-class air quality research base and support high quality multi- and inter- disciplinary research and innovation to develop practical solutions for today's air quality issues and equip the UK to proactively tackle future air quality challenges, in order to protect health and support clean growth.

The current wave of investment (pound sterling22m) will support new interdisciplinary research and innovation that will equip the UK to proactively tackle new and emerging air quality challenges related to changes in the types of air pollutants emitted and their importance at the indoor/outdoor interface, with regards to exposure patterns and impacts on vulnerable groups.
