Nicholas R. Ohlson, ChFC, Earns Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) Designation
February 10, 2016 - Chicago, IL - Nicholas R. Ohlson, ChFC, Managing Director of the Ohlson Group, Inc., Chicago Office, has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA.
Candidates for the CLU® designation must complete a minimum of eight courses and 16 hours of supervised examinations. They must also fulfill stringent experience and ethics requirements. Over 102,000 individuals have been awarded the CLU® designation since The College was founded in 1927.
The Chartered Life Underwriter® is the highest standard of knowledge and trust and is the world’s most respected designation of insurance expertise. The College’s founder, University of Pennsylvania Wharton School professor Solomon S. Huebner, Ph.D., created the CLU® program to meet the career education needs of men and women in life insurance and related financial services. “We are very proud that Nick exhibits the traits of the consummate professional,” states Raymond J. Ohlson, CLU, CRC, CEO of The Ohlson Group and Nick’s father.
Nick entered the insurance and financial services business shortly after his graduation from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He quickly earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from The American College, and he’s not finished yet. “Nick has been a great role model,” states his brother, Joseph Ohlson, LUTCF, Managing Director of the firm’s Indianapolis office. Nick’s new designation has the makings of an educational and marketing marathon as Joe is now enrolled to earn his Certified Financial Counselor designation from The International Foundation for Retirement Education (InFRE) at Texas Tech.
“Being a lifelong learner is in the Ohlson Group’s DNA,” adds Joe Ohlson.
“From my dad being in the business, my mother with her Masters degree and her professional educational background, and our dedication to providing our associates with the best in marketing research and education, The Ohlson Group continues to be ... a different experience!”
