House Speaker Will Weatherford Reappoints Chris Gardner to Citizens Property Insurance Board

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., July 2 -- Florida House of Representatives issued the following news release:
Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford (R-Wesley Chapel) today reappointed Chris Gardner to the Board of Governors for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. Gardner's reappointment is effective today for a three-year term.
"Over the last several years, Citizens Property Insurance has made tremendous strides to return to its original purpose as an insurer of last resort in Florida. Throughout the depopulation process, Chris has provided steady leadership as a member of the Citizens Board of Governors," said Speaker Weatherford. "He has the experience and understanding of Florida's insurance market necessary to continue leading Citizens through this period of transition, which is why I am proud to reappoint him for another term."
Chris Gardner is the managing shareholder of Kuykendall Gardner, LLC, a Winter Park-based insurance brokerage firm that has been in business since 1953. Gardner previously served as Chairman of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past Vice-Chairman and member of the City of Orlando Municipal Planning Board and a board member of the Florida Sports Foundation.
Gardner holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Florida.
