New Liability Coverage Program Available For Collegiate Registered Student Organizations
Fort Wayne, Ind., November 5, 2013: K&K Insurance Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Aon plc (NYSE:AON), today announced a new program providing liability insurance for Registered Student Organizations (RSO) recognized by and in good standing with their associated college or university. Coverage is provided for the student organization, including volunteers, for liability claims arising out the organization’s operations.
Covered operations consist of scheduled, organized, supervised activities in which members participate, host and are directly related to the specific common interest or goal for which the organization was formed. Coverage also includes registrations, games, playoffs or tournaments in which the organization participates or hosts. Meetings, parades, banquets, ceremonies and incidental fund raising activities are also covered under the policy.
RSOs must fall within one of the following areas: academic and professional; advocacy and political; arts and entertainment; environmental; governance; graduate; honorary; international and multicultural; religious and spiritual; social; sport and recreation; or service and philanthropy.
Ineligible risks include fireworks; liquor/beer exposures (whether for sale or free); dating programs; fraternities & sororities; activities involving the use of animals, weapons and firearms; NCAA sanctioned activities or sports.
Limits offered are $1 million per occurrence with a $2 million aggregate; excess limits available up to $25 million. Coverage is offered on an admitted basis and provided through an insurance carrier rated “A+” (Superior) by A.M. Best Company. Commission is paid to agents.
