Zurich Named to List of Best Employers for Veterans

SCHAUMBURG, Illinois, May 28 -- Zurich Insurance, a property-casualty insurance company, issued the following news release:

For the fourth consecutive year, Zurich's focus on hiring and supporting veterans has been recognized by Military Times by being named to the publication's Best for Vets: Employers 2019 listing.

Zurich North America recognizes the value veterans can bring to a company and continues to increase its efforts to recruit veterans and create a supportive culture for them after they are hired.

Zurich began ramping up its veterans recruiting mission in 2014. That year, the company joined the Veteran Jobs Mission, a coalition of over 230 companies collectively committed to hiring one million U.S. military veterans. Internally, the company's Veteran Engagement Team at Zurich (VETZ) has a mission to build a community for all current and former military service members and military supporters, while establishing an inclusive environment to help employees build a career, share experiences and become thought leaders among the Zurich team. The VETZ employee resource group was launched at Zurich North America's headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill., and now has chapters in Zurich offices in Florida, New York, Kansas, Texas, Atlanta, Minnesota and Colorado.

To qualify for the Military Times' Best for Vets: Employers 2019 listing, employers filled out a detailed survey evaluating their culture, policies for military-connected employees and resources they devote to hiring veterans. Only organizations that did well in this evaluation made the list.
