Oct. 12—A winning lottery ticket worth a sizable prize was sold this week in Elizabethville.
According to a Pennsylvania Lottery press release, a retailer in Dauphin County sold a Powerball with Power Play ticket worth $100,000 for the Monday drawing.
The ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn, 3-6-11-17-22, and the red Powerball 11 to win $100,000, less applicable withholding. Without the $1 Power Play option, the ticket would have been worth $50,000. The Power Play multiplier drawn was two.
The retailer, Walmart, at 200 Kocher Lane, earns a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
According to PA Lottery, winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
More than 28,800 other PA Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, including more than 7,100 tickets purchased with Power Play and 3,800 tickets purchased with Double Play.
The Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated annuity value of $420 million, or $215.2 million cash, for the next drawing on Wednesday.
Pennsylvania Lottery players have options to purchase Powerball tickets online or by visiting a retailer. Players can find lottery-selling locations closest to them by visiting the Find a Retailer section of the Lottery's website, www.palottery.state.pa.us.
