ARLINGTON, Virginia, Aug. 6 -- Willis Towers Watson, an advisory, broking and solutions company, issued the following news release:
Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, announced today that its Via Benefits(TM) marketplace is now a trusted option for the National Council on Aging (NCOA) My Medicare Matters(R) educational website. The site makes it easier for people with Medicare and those turning 65 to make informed choices about their health coverage. The addition of Via Benefits to My Medicare Matters allows individuals to access one-on-one assistance from a Willis Towers Watson licensed benefit advisor, free of cost, if they choose. Willis Towers Watson's extensive experience and success serving those with Medicare and its ability to meet all of NCOA's Standards of Excellence are the reasons for adding Via Benefits to My Medicare Matters, according to NCOA.
"Willis Towers Watson is pleased to work with NCOA to help the 64-plus age group meet the challenges of aging by advising them to make informed and educated decisions about their health insurance coverage," said Ben Pajak, Individual Marketplace leader, Benefits Delivery and Administration, Willis Towers Watson. "We take pride in being able to meet NCOA's Standards of Excellence, including agent training and quality assurance, consumer advocacy, and customer service and support."
"We are pleased Willis Towers Watson meets NCOA's Standards of Excellence, and we look forward to a long relationship that will continue to improve the lives of millions of older adults," said Jay Greenberg, chief executive officer, NCOA Services, LLC. "Our Standards of Excellence are exacting and were developed by an expert consumer advisory panel to ensure our providers meet the highest standards for consumer education and health insurance brokerage services for people with Medicare. Our voluntary Standards of Excellence go well beyond the legal and regulatory requirements that all Medicare brokers are required to comply with."
Willis Towers Watson has transitioned more than 1.8 million retirees from group health care plans to individual Medicare Advantage, Medigap and Prescription Drug plans. Of the Medicare-eligible retirees using the Willis Towers Watson Individual Marketplace, 97% feel they selected the best plan to meet their needs and 97% are satisfied with their experience. The Willis Towers Watson Individual Marketplace has been serving seniors since 2005. It's completed more than 780 implementations, and more than 550 clients have used the Marketplace to provide insurance to their retirees.
