U.S. Representative Karen Handel Visits Delta Dental Insurance Company for Town Hall With Leading North Fulton County Employer

Business Wire

ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today, U.S. Representative Karen Handel (GA-6) visited Delta Dental Insurance Company (DDIC) in Alpharetta to meet with employees, learn about legislative issues that affect the health care industry and discuss the local economy in a Town Hall meeting.

Congresswoman Handel continues to visit with companies throughout the sixth district of Georgia to highlight the strength of the local workforce.

Following her visit, Congresswoman Handel expressed shared enthusiasm for the health care sector and the contribution of DDIC in this space.

“DDIC has been hard at work with their Direct to Consumer (D2C) initiative to bring new markets to the forefront. Through this program, people have better options for dental coverage in the health care marketplace,” said Congresswoman Handel. Additionally, I applaud their commitment to our community and efforts to provide greater dental insurance access. Thank you to DDIC for making this visit possible today.”

“We appreciate Congresswoman Handel’s support in creating a vibrant business community in North Fulton County where we are growing our business,” said Tony Barth, chairman and chief executive officer of DDIC. “Today’s visit gave us an opportunity to share how we are working to improve oral health through the development of affordable options that will increase access to dental care.”

DDIC recently signed long-term leases that will expand its presence and footprint at Stonebridge II at Sanctuary Park in Alpharetta, in addition to amending its current lease at Stonebridge III.

DDIC employs nearly 1,000 Georgia residents at their Alpharetta location, where the company has operated for more than 20 years.

DDIC, through the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, is committed to increasing access to care and oral health education for underserved Georgia residents. Since 2011, the Foundation has donated more than $1 million throughout the state.
