The Michigan Republican Party Is Still Pushing for a Dangerous Healthcare Repeal?–?Do GOP Candidates for Governor Agree?
Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
LANSING, Michigan, June 6 -- The Michigan Democratic Party issued the following news release:
While working families are facing rising healthcare costs from the GOP's sabotage, the Michigan Republican Party is spending today touting a full repeal of the Affordable Care Act--which would threaten healthcare for over 600,000 Michiganders and protections for people with pre-existing health conditions.
The Michigan Republican Party's jump to the extreme right of even Governor Rick Snyder on healthcare is raising the questions: Do Michigan's Republican candidates for governor agree and what will they do for the 600,000 Michiganders covered under Healthy Michigan?
Bill Schuette has made gutting healthcare a central campaign promise, while Brian Calley has a history of supporting the GOP's harmful healthcare agenda that hikes costs for working families. Similarly, Patrick Colbeck has made opposing Healthy Michigan one of his top priorities in the legislature.
"Never mind Rick Snyder, the Michigan Republican Party is dead set on taking healthcare away from over 600,000 Michiganders. Bill Schuette and Brian Calley need to answer for this disastrous healthcare takeaway that continues to push their nasty GOP primary to the right and out of the mainstream," added Michigan Democratic Party Spokesperson Sam Newton.
