Steven V. Melnik to Join American Institute of Certified Public Accountants on Executive Committee

"I am very honored to be asked to join this prestigious and important organization," said Melnik, who had a successful corporate career prior to embarking on a 15-year plus tenure in academia as a professor, advisor, and program director. "Part of my contribution will be helping to develop continuing education programs for CPAs across the country."
According to Melnik, another focus will be assisting universities in developing and adopting curriculum that will prepare the next generation of CPAs in offering retirement, asset protection, estate as well as general financial planning services.

About the AICPA
The AICPA represents the Certified Public Accountancy profession "nationally regarindg rule-making and standard-setting, and serves as an advocate before legislative bodies, public interest groups, and other professional organizations." The Personal Financial Planning Executive Committee provides AICPA members with "information, advocacy and leadership to enable them to perform valuable personal financial planning services in the highest professional manner. The committee also assists in developing public statements made by AICPA in the area of personal financial planning. It determines Institute technical policies regarding PFP and serves as the Institute's official voice on those matters."
