Speaker Ryan on Prong Three Health Care Legislation
WASHINGTON--House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 1101, the Small Business Health Fairness Act and H.R. 372, the Competitive Health Insurance Reform Act.
"We are wasting no time to act on prong three of conservative health care reform. The Small Business Health Fairness Act empowers small businesses to offer health care to their employees through association plans. This comes on the heels of the Competitive Health Insurance Reform Act, which passed with major bipartisan support of 416 votes. This legislation levels the playing field for health insurance providers and creates more competition in the marketplace. These bills will work in tandem with the American Health Care Act to fulfill our promise to give all Americans access to high quality health care at a lower cost."
