Southland crime: Rash of car burglaries involve unlocked vehicles in Frankfort, more

March 12-- Mar. 12--Frankfort

STOLEN CARS: A car was stolen from a driveway in the 10900 block of Pembrook Feb. 27. The car was recovered the following day in Chicago. A car was also reported stolen from the 22700 block of Center Road that same day.

CAR BURGLARIES: Frankfort police are investigating a rash of car burglaries that occurred Feb. 27- March 2. Thefts were reported in the 200 block of Grant, the 22100 block of Princeton Circle, 22700 block of Center Road, the 10700 block of Ashford, the 200 block of Sherlock, the 9800 block of Folkers Drive, the 10600 block of Lexington and the 300 block of Utah Street. All of the cars were unlocked, according to police.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Adenkunle Awolola, 18, of the 21600 block of Gailine Avenue, Sauk Village, was arrested and accused of felony aggravated assault to a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest March 5, police said.

New Lenox

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Tyler Johnson, 25, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, speeding and no insurance Feb. 25 at Kingston Drive and Washington Street, police said.

CAR BURGLARY: A phone charger was stolen from an unlocked car in the 1000 block of Edmonds Avenue Feb. 27.

CAR BURGLARY: Police said someone stole a wallet from an unlocked car parked in the 600 block of Lilas Court Feb. 27.

WALLET STOLEN: A customer at Portillo's, 2306 E. U.S. 30, told police someone stole their wallet while they were eating at the restaurant Feb. 28. The thief then used the victim's credit cards to make purchases.

DRUG ARREST: Jessie Mitchell, 26, of the 200 block of Woodlawn Road, New Lenox, and Matthew Gilbert, 24, of Carol Stream, were arrested and accused of possession of heroin in the 200 block of Woodlawn Road March 1, police said.

Orland Park

DRUG ARREST: Candice Klimczak, 29, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of possession of heroin and retail theft after merchandise was stolen from Target, 15850 94th Ave., Feb. 17, police said.

THEFT: Andrill Small, 43, of the 9000 block of Kennedy Court, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of theft and retail theft and underringing with intention to deprive merchant after more than $500 in merchandise was stolen from Marhsalls in Orland Park Place mall Feb. 18, police said.

DUI ARREST: Robert Gremer, 64, of the 15200 block of Larkspur Lane, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving outside of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, 7402 159th St., on Feb. 19, police said.

WEAPONS ARREST: Marcellus Speaks, 18, of the 2900 block of Bob O Link Road, Flossmoor, was arrested and accused of possession of ammunition without a FOID card and expired registration after a Feb. 21 stop in the 7600 block of 159th Street, police said.

DUI ARREST: Joseph Skala, 34, of the 17400 block of Stone Hill Drive, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, improper lane usage, resisting a peace officer and speeding Feb. 23 at 159th and LaGrange Road, police said.

THEFT: A resident of Scarlett Drive told police someone stole a black column mailbox Feb. 23-25.

Tinley Park

OBSTRUCTING IDENTIFICATION: Latifah Murphy, 28, of the 9200 block of Hunter Drive, Orland Hills, was arrested and accused of obstructing identification and driving on a suspended license after a March 1 stop in the 17200 block of LaGrange Road, police said,

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Kelli Komar, 33, of the 17600 block of 66th Court, Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of domestic battery after a March 2 incident at her home, police said.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Trevor Gavitt, 25, of the 11300 block of 195th Street, Mokena, was arrested and accused of criminal damage to property after breaking a car window in the 16400 block of Hillcrest Drive March 3, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Michael Frey, 26, of the 6600 block of Riverside Drive, Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of retail theft after $435 in merchandise was stolen from Menards, 6851 159th St., on March 4, police said.

Chicago Ridge

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Erik Edwards, 42, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 6 after he was stopped in the 9500 block of Nashville, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Michal Masinca, 19, of Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license March 7 after he was stopped in the 9800 block of Nottingham Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jessica Styrczula, 20, of Hickory Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 7 after she was stopped in the 10900 block of Central Avenue, police said.

REVOKED LICENSE: Jeff Rubinic, 53, of Chicago Ridge, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license March 11 after he was stopped in the 10400 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Tarsheena Murphy, 30, of Harvey, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 11 after he was stopped in the 10300 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

Oak Lawn

HIT/RUN: Travis J. Strama, 20, undisclosed block of 88th Place, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of resisting arrest, aggravated speeding, driving without headlights when required, leaving the scene of a property-damage crash, failing to give crash-related aid or information and failing to report a crash and cannabis possession during a Feb. 20 crash investigation at 87th Street and Ridgeland Avenue, police said.

NO LICENSE: Brandon T. Patton, 20, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license, driving without insurance, expired registration and violating seatbelt law Feb. 21 at 92nd Street and Cicero Avenue where he was also accused of possessing less than 10 grams of cannabis after he was found to have two grams of marijuana, police said.

NO LICENSE: Horacio Velazco, 31, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and improperly displaying registration Feb. 26 in the 9200 block of Cicero Avenue where he was also served with a Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on an undisclosed traffic charge, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jeffery L. Berry, 31, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and obstructed windshield Feb. 27 at 111th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

WARRANT SERVICE: Demetrius A. Burgin, 48, Chicago, was taken into custody on a Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on an undisclosed charge Feb. 27 at 104th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Tayler E. Hammons-Woodard, 26, Chicago, was arrested and accused of retail theft Feb. 27 at Target, 4120 95th St., after merchandise selling for $338.39 was stolen, police said.

WARRANT SERVICE: Orlando O. Santos Jr., 37, undisclosed block of 98th Street, Oak Lawn, was taken into custody on a Will county warrant for domestic battery Feb. 27 in the 4700 block of 95th Street, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Marc H. Styles, 39, Chicago, was arrested and accused of disorderly conduct Feb. 27 at Staples, 9631 Cicero Ave., after swearing at and threatening an employee, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Lavera Turentine, 54, Chicago, was arrested and accused of two counts of disorderly conduct Feb. 27 at Shirey Cadillac, 10125 Cicero Ave., after encouraging a man who self-identified as her son to batter a customer who was sitting in a car, police said. The assailant fled after the customer, who had a valid FOID card and valid concealed-carry license, displayed a firearm, police said.

REVOKED LICENSE: Dimero B. Anderson, 25, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license and driving without insurance during a Feb. 28 crash investigation at Southwest Highway and Kilbourn Avenue, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Michael P. Goetz, 56, undisclosed block of 158th Street, South Holland, was arrested and accused of retail theft Feb. 28 at Mariano's 11000 Cicero Ave., after meat and seafood selling for $461.35 were stolen, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Edward J. Martin, 51, undisclosed block of Melvina Avenue, was arrested and accused of disorderly conduct Feb. 28 after repeatedly aiming floodlights into a neighbor's home, police said.

CAR BURGLARY: Change was discovered stolen from a vehicle Feb. 28 in the 4700 block of 107th Street.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Laniqua S. Kuykendall, 25, North Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and no valid registration March 1 at 95th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

NARCOTICS: Kenard C. Smith, 33, Chicago, was arrested and accused of possessing cocaine, disorderly conduct and obstructing identification during a March 1 disturbance call at a restaurant in the 9200 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

THEFT: A catalytic converter was discovered stolen March 1 from a vehicle that had been parked for approximately one month in a lot in the 9700 block of Pulaski Road.

VANDALISM: A front window was discovered smashed on two cars March 1 in the 9600 block of Austin Avenue.

DUI: Glenn P. Chovanee, 55, undisclosed block of 88th Street, Oak Lawn, was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest, driving off the roadway, leaving the scene of a crash and failing to report damage March 2 after he was stopped near the intersection of 88th Street and 55th Avenue, police said.

NO LICENSE: Tomasz Kijak, 38, undisclosed block of Austin Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license, improperly using an electronic device while driving and driving without insurance March 2 in the 9400 block of Southwest Highway, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Nicholas C. McGrath, 33, Chicago, was arrested and accused of retail theft and trespassing March 2 at Jewel-Osco, 9424 Pulaski Road, after merchandise selling for $105.81 was stolen, police said.

BATTERY: Freddie Lee Parsons, 29, Willowbrook, was arrested and accused of battery March 2 in the parking lot at Midway Inn & Suites, 9320 Cicero Ave., police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Christopher Ramos, 46, undisclosed bock of 99th Street, Chicago Ridge, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and expired registration March 2 at 95th Street and Meade Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Ean J. Tolbert, 19, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, failing to yield turning left and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision March 2 at 95th Street and Lacrosse Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Dearrion M. Carter, 20, Calumet City, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, speeding and driving without insurance March 3 at 95th Street and Mansfield Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Damian C. Gray Jr., 29, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 3 at 96th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

DUI: Maurice Hall, 47, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated drunken driving/third offense, aggravated drunken driving/DUI while suspended for DUI; aggravated driving on a revoked license, drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the limit, speeding and illegally transporting alcohol March 3 at 95th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said. Hall's 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander was seized in connection with the charges, police said.

Country Club Hills

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Marial C. Clemons, 25, 4400 block of 180th Street, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and having a malfunctioning taillight Feb. 23 at 194th Street and Crawford Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Thomas N. North, 23, 17700 Springfield Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and violating seatbelt law Feb. 23 at Lakeview Drive and Crawford Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jeremiah H. Phillips, 30, Gary, Ind., was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and expired registration Feb. 23 at Flossmoor Road and Crawford Avenue, police said.

NO LICENSE: Lorena Rios Solorio, 34, 16300 block of Emerald Avenue, Harvey, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license and speeding Feb. 23 at 183rd Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Eddie J. Williams, 42, 100 block of Williamsburg Road, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of domestic battery Feb. 26 in that block, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Rudy M. Clark, 34, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and illegally turning left Feb. 27 at 171st Street and Wildwood Way, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Anthony P. Mason, 31, 900 block of Blackhawk Drive, University Park, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and improper lighting/one headlamp Feb. 27 at 178th Place and Pulaski Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Angela Carter, 28, 3200 block of Charlemagne Avenue, Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and improper lane use Feb. 28 at 174th Street and Pulaski Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Monica R. Dunn-Bonner, 52, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and illegally turning March 1 at 169th Street and Pulaski Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Teyana M. Hoover, 24, 17800 block of Cypress Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 1 at 169th Street and Pulaski Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Brooke L. Davis, 18, 18600 block of Maple Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and improper lighting/one headlamp March 2 at 183rd Street and Baker Avene, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Anthony D. Jones, 33, Pembroke Township, Kankakee County, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and failing to signal March 3 at Crawford Avenue and Soleri Drive, police said.

CHILD ENDANGERMENT: Raelyn S. Pritchett, 22, Chicago, was arrested and accused of endangering the safety of a young child March 3 outside a store in the 4000 block of 168th Place after a 2-year-old was left alone in an unheated car for at least 30 minutes while the outside temperature was 12 degrees Fahrenheit, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Leron R. Williams Jr., 20, 16700 block of Hillside Place, Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and speeding March 3 in the 4100 block of 183rd Street, police said.

Homewood

RETAIL THEFT: Anthony Willingham, 53, 1600 block of Oak Street, Chicago Heights, was arrested and accused of retail theft Jan. 24 at Kirschner Vision Group, 2156 183rd St., after eyeglass frames selling for $752 were stolen, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Pamela Hawkins, 61, 18700 block of Avers Avenue, Flossmoor, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration Feb. 27 at 183rd Street and Governors Highway, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Lionell Mitchell, 49, 600 block of 155th Place, Phoenix, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and violating seatbelt law Feb. 27 at 175th and Halsted streets, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Tommy Phillips, 27, 1500 block of 172nd Street, East Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, improperly displaying registration and violating seatbelt law Feb. 27 in the 17550 block of Halsted Street, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Kevin Monroy, 25, Sauk Village, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and no rear registration plate light Feb. 28 in the 17700 block of Halsted Street, police said.
