Southland crime: Oak Forest police investigating reported gunshots outside Rocking Horse Saloon, more

Feb. 13--Oak Forest police are investigating reports of gunshots fired outside of The Rocking Horse Saloon shortly after midnight Saturday. Bar security told police a 37-year-old Chicago man was escorted from the bar after a physical fight with other patrons. The man became upset and told security "he had something for them" and then re-entered the bar where he got into another physical argument. After being thrown out a second time, the security guard told police he heard multiple gunshots. Outside the guard saw the Chicago man holding a gun and the guard pointed his weapon back at the suspect. The suspect then threw his pistol into a car.

The guard said the man was disobeying commands so he sprayed a chemical spray on his face and clothing before placing him in handcuffs. Oak Forest police arrived at brought the Chicago man and his companion, a 46-year-old Oak Forest woman, to the police station. Charges were pending further investigation.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Man robbed at gunpoint outside Oak Forest apartment

A 53-year-old Oak Forest man told police he was robbed at gunpoint outside his apartment building in the 5800 block of West 158th Street Jan. 24. The victim told police he had taken a cab from his apartment to a nearby gas station to buy cigarettes. When he returned at around 9:30 p.m., an unknown man approached him and ordered him to "get on the ground," reports stated. When he turned around he saw the man was pointing a long-barrel handgun at him. The victim laid on his stomach and handed the robber $250 from his wallet. The suspect then fled running east.

The suspect is described as a thin white man, 20-30 years-old, 6' tall and wearing a red hoodie, police said.

REVOKED LICENSE: Tylka Tadeusz, 59, of Willowbrook, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license Feb. 5 after he was stopped at Harlem Avenue and College Drive, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: A resident reported someone entered and ransacked his unlocked car and stole loose change sometime during the night Feb. 5 in the 12200 block of Nagle Avenue, police said.

STOLEN VEHICLE: An unlocked vehicle with the keys inside was reported stolen from the driveway of a house sometime during the night of Feb. 5 in the 6700 block of Navajo Drive, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: William Ceiley, 51, of Palos Hieghts, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspected license, without insurance and talking on his cellular phone Feb. 7 after he was stopped in the 12700 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Abdulatef Fatayer, 37, of Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license Feb. 7 after he was stopped in the 12500 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

DUI ARREST: Laura Concialdi, 50 of Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of drunken driving Feb. 7 after she was stopped in the 12100 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

Palos Hills

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Two homeowners told police Feb. 8 jewelry and cash were missing from their residences in the 11300 block of Moraine Valley Drive after someone pried open the front doors, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Fayzeh Sweiss, 56, of Orland Park, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, unlawful use of a license and driving with one headlight Feb. 8 after she was stopped in the 8300 block of 111th Street, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Luigi Miller, 57, of Worth, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license Feb. 10 after he was stopped in the 10300 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

DRUG ARREST: Frank Castro, 28, of the 13900 block of Lady Bar Avenue, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of possession of a controlled substance Jan. 24 at 143rd Street and Pheasant Lane, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Matthew Myers, 36, of the 4700 block of Old Oaks Drive, Lisle, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license Jan. 25 at 143rdand Parker Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jennifer Ervin, 44, of the 20000 block of Graceland Lane, Frankfort, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and expired registration Jan. 21 in the 18900 block of Wolf Road, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Garrett Young, 29, of the 11500 block of 192nd Street, Mokena, was arrested and accused of domestic battery and unlawful possession of a firearm after a Jan. 27 incident at his home, police said. Police said they discovered a loaded handgun in Young's bedroom and said he had a revoked FOID card.

New Lenox

RETAIL THEFT: An unknown person stole $640 worth of medication from Target, 2370 E. U.S. 30, on two separate occasions Feb. 6.

STOLEN AUTO: Police in Wyoming, Michigan told New Lenox police a skid steer stolen from their jurisdiction was listed for sale on Craigslist and located at Spencer and Laraway Road. The stolen vehicle was recovered at that location.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Someone broke the window of a car parked in the 1000 block of Shagbark Feb. 8.

Oak Forest

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A woman told police someone slashed her car tire when she was parked in her driveway in the 14900 block of LeClaire Avenue Jan. 30-Feb. 8.

STOLEN CAR: A woman told police someone stole her blue 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe when she left it running in the 5000 block of 159th Street Feb. 5.

BATTERY: An unknown man spit in the face of a cashier at Circle K, 5600 W. 159th St., after a verbal argument over paying for empty cups Feb. 6.

BURGLARY: Someone broke into an apartment in the 15700 block of Terrace Drive and stole a television Feb. 7, police said.

STOLEN WALLET: A man told police a woman stole his wallet when he stopped to help her change a flat tire in the 5200 block of 167th Street Feb. 7. Another woman in the suspect's car asked the victim if she and her infant could sit in his car while he changed the tire. He later discovered his wallet had been stolen from his jacket pocket that had been inside his car.

RETAIL THEFT: Tyrell Lacy, 20, of the 14700 block of Central, Oak Forest, was arrested and accused of retail theft Feb. 7 after a discount code was used to steal $180 while he was employed as a cashier at Food 4 Less during an incident that occurred last month, police said.

BURGLARY: A woman told police someone stole her purse and a jar of quarters from her kitchen of her condo in the 15800 block of South Terrace Feb. 7-8. There were no signs of forced entry.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A man told police someone shattered two of his car windows when he was parked outside of LeClaire Station apartments in the 15800 block of LeClaire Feb. 9.

DUI ARREST: Latrisha Crims, 24, of South Holland, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, no insurance, failure to yield and driving too fast for conditions after a Feb. 10 crash in the 4100 block of 167th Street, police said

Orland Park

DRUG ARREST: Marlonn Boyd, 47, and Nicole Parker, 40, of Riverdale, was arrested and accused of felony possession of heroin outside of Best Buy, 15854 LaGrange Road, on Jan. 17, police said. Boyd was also charged with retail theft after nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from Best Buy.

THEFT ARRESTS: Takiya Robinson, 18; Jataun Goodman-Powers, 21 and Marcella Benson, 24, all of Chicago, were arrested and accused of retail theft and possession of stolen property after merchandise was stolen from multiple stores in Orland Square Mall Jan. 18, police said. Robinson was additionally charged with possession of a theft-detection device and Goodman-Powers with resisting a peace officer.

DRUG ARRESTS: Kira Feliszak, 18, of the 17300 block of 68th Court and Michael Dyer, 25, of Hobart, Ind., were charged with possession of a controlled substance Jan. 23 at 144th Place and LaGrange Road, police said. Dyer was also cited for improper lane usage and no insurance and both with possession of drug paraphernalia.

RETAIL THEFT: Denise Hannah. 49, of Broadview, was arrested and accused of retail theft after $360 worth of liquor was stolen from Mariano's, 9504 142nd Street, Jan. 25, police said.

DUI ARREST: Kelly Lachajewski, 25, of the 9700 block of Cook Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, no insurance and improper lane usage Jan. 27 in the 10600 block of 143rd Street, police said.

DUI ARREST: David Kallas, 40, of the 15100 block of Narcissus Street, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving and unlawful stopping on a roadway after police said he passed out behind the wheel at 159th and Harlem Avenue Jan. 28, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Isiah Sellers, 20, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of retail theft after $190 worth of merchandise was stolen from Premiere Attire in Orland Square Mall Jan. 29, police said.

Tinley Park

THEFT: A Tinley Park High School student told police someone stole her cell phone from the school gym while she was helping with wrestling practice Feb. 5.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A resident told police she witnessed a man banging on an apartment vestibule door and breaking it to gain access to a unit in the 17200 block of 71st Court Feb. 5.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A man told police he discovered two of his car tires flattened when parked in the 16200 block of Bormet Drive Feb. 5-6.

Will County

DRUG ARREST: Zachary Sterling, 25, of Princeton, IL., was arrested and accused of manufacture/delivery of marijuana more than 500 grams and improper display of registration Jan. 26, police said.

RESISTING POLICE: Chris Nardi, 43, of the 26700 block of Greenbriar Drive, Monee, was arrested and accused of resisting a police officer Jan. 24 in the 26700 block of Greenbriar Drive, police said.

DUI ARREST: Torger Cornell, 36, of the 1400 block of Somerset Drive, Beecher, was arrested and accused of aggravated drugged driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving on a revoked license and possession of a controlled substance Jan. 26 at Goodenow and South Ashland in Crete Township, police said.

Country Club Hills

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Kim L. Johnson, 35, 2300 block of Windsor Lane, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of domestic battery Feb. 4 in the 18600 block of Lee Street, police said.

REVOKED LICENSE: Latoya L. Smith, 42, 3400 block of School Drive, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license, driving without insurance and improper use of registration Feb. 4 at 178th Place and Pulaski Road, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Lamont D. Harper, 46, 18700 block of Maple Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of domestic battery Feb. 5 in that block, police said.

ASSAULT: Barrie B. Kirk, 54, 18800 block of Maple Avenue, was arrested and accused of assault Feb. 5 in that block, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Carlos E. Martinez, 36, 2200 block of Windsor Lane, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, disregarding a stop sign, driving without insurance and violating seatbelt law Feb. 5 in the 4000 block of 183rd Street, police said.

PHONE HARASSMENT: Darnell D. Ball, 27, 17700 block of Grandview Drive, Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of using a telephone to harass a Country Club Hills resident Feb. 6, police said.

FRAUD: Joseph Starks, 39, Chicago, was arrested and accused of identity theft Jan. 30 at Best Buy, 17800 Halsted St., after attempting to open a credit account, police said. Starks was subsequently accused of criminally damaging government property and resisting/obstructing a peace officer, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Craig Hall, 46, 22600 block of Latonia Lane, Richton Park, was arrested and accused of aggravated driving on a suspended license and expired registration Feb. 1 in the 18200 block of Halsted Street, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Kamilah Dew, 25, Calumet City, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration Feb. 2 at 175th and Halsted streets, police said.

STOLEN VEHICLE: Fawzi M. Abdallah, 61, Dearborn, Mich., was arrested and accused of possessing a stolen vehicle Jan. 30 in the 10300 block of Mansfield Avenue following a two-vehicle collision in an undisclosed block of Central Avenue, police said. Abdallah was also accused of failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, driving off the roadway and leaving the scene of a property-damage collision, police said.

STOLEN VEHICLE: Jeremiah Lee Burns, 29, undisclosed block of 142nd Street, Dolton, was arrested and accused of possessing a stolen motor vehicle, criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, possessing a controlled substance and unlawfully possessing fraudulent credit cards during a Jan. 30 traffic stop at 95th Street and McVicker Avenue , police said. In a related action, Johnathan B. Bell, 29, undisclosed block of 142nd Street, Dolton, was accused of unlawfully possessing credit cards and criminal trespass to a vehicle and Godfrey N. Johnson, 30, Chicago, was accused of possessing less than 30 grams of cannabis after he was found to have more than 19 grams of marijuana, police said.

DUI: Matthew D. Wapinski, 28, undisclosed street and block, Evergreen Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit, driving in the oncoming-traffic lane and driving off the road way Feb. 3 after driving through a snow pile and into a parking lot at 99th Street and Pulaski Road, police said.

REVOKED LICENSE: Javier Tamayo, 27, undisclosed street and block, Crestwood, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license, speeding, failing to signal, driving without insurance and expired registration Feb. 4 in the 10000 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

DUI: Murphy Washington, 37, Chicago, was arrested and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit and possessing five grams of marijuana during a Feb. 4 traffic stop in the 4900 block of 95th Street for aggravated speeding and improper turning, police said.

VANDALISM: Two work vehicles' windows were discovered broken out Feb. 4 in a parking lot for contractors at 93rd Street and Kilbourn Avenue,

THEFT: A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle Feb. 4 in the HOBO parking lot at 87th Street and Cicero Avenue.

REVOKED LICENSE: Ricardo A. Ochoa, 36, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license, speeding and driving without insurance Feb. 5 at 111th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Michelle M. Quinn, 52, undisclosed street and block, Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of retail theft Feb. 5 at Jewel-Osco, 8801 Ridgeland Ave., after merchandise selling for $225.25 was stolen, police said.

REVOKED LICENSE: Terry Williams, 60, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license, failing to signal and no valid registration Feb. 5 in the 4200 block of 95th Street, police said.

ASSAULT: Daniel D. Wooddell, undisclosed age, undisclosed block of Elm Circle Drive, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of domestic-related assault Feb. 5 in that block, police said.

VEHICULAR TRESPASS: Alen Dzananoric, 27, undisclosed block and street, Bridgeview, was arrested and accused of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle Feb. 8 at 95th Street and Lawton Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Sanad A. Motan, 29, Florissant, Mo., was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding Feb. 8 in the 9700 block of Ridgeland Avenue in Chicago Ridge, police said.
