Soltis Investment Advisors Holds Fiduciary Training Event for Plan Sponsors

PR Newswire iReach

ST. GEORGE, Utah, May 27, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Soltis Investment Advisors held the second of its 2016 Fiduciary Training conferences on April 29, in St. George, Utah. There were almost 200 people in attendance, including representatives from 40 client companies. CEO Hal Anderson and Vice President of Retirement Services Kim Anderson kicked off the day with an update on the new DOL regulations, providing their perspective as members of the Government Affairs Committee of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).

"Our fiduciary training sessions are eagerly anticipated by clients and prospective clients who seek the most current thinking on structuring retirement plans that best serve the needs of employees and the sponsoring company," said Kim Anderson, Soltis VP of Retirement Plans. "Soltis is highly regarded as a plan advisor because of our commitment to independence, fee transparency and always acting in the best interest of our clients."

FOCUS ON FINANCIAL WELLNESS

The theme of the conference was "Live Well: Harmony & Health for Plan & Participants," and included a presentation about the MIT Age Lab quality of life research. Chris Hogan, best-selling author of "Retire Inspired" and Ramsey Personality, delivered the keynote, "Defining True Financial Wellness." A former All-American football player, Hogan is dedicated to helping people plan for the future and reach their retirement goals.

"Financial stress is a leading cause of unproductivity for employees in America. It's so great to see companies like Soltis stepping up to help their employees take control of their money," said Hogan. "They are providing their employees with a roadmap that will help guide them toward financial success so they can retire with dignity."

Following Hogan's presentation, Kim Anderson announced that Soltis would be offering Ramsey Solutions' SmartDollar financial wellness program to all plan sponsors and participants. Created by financial expert Dave Ramsey, Smart Dollar is a proven plan that gives each participant and their family action steps to build a strong financial foundation so they can get on track for retirement, no matter where they are today. Soltis plan sponsor clients can now provide employees not only a well-structured, compliant retirement plan, but the support they need to proactively address their financial futures.

"SmartDollar is an investment in people. And people matter," Ramsey said. "It's not about numbers, it's about behavior. What if you helped show your team another way? What could they do if they didn't have any payments? How much could they save? How much more could they invest in their 401(k)? SmartDollar is an important first step that can change lives."

COMPLETE SUITE OF PLAN SPONSOR SERVICES

The conference focus was well received by attendees. Lynn White, Senior Vice President, Corporate Human Resources for Norwegian Cruise Lines said, "Taking time from one's daily functions is challenging but I am very happy I made the effort to attend Soltis' Fiduciary conference.  The sessions were timely and the speakers were inspiring.  I returned home motivated to further enhance our company's retirement plan to maximize our team member's financial wellness."

Soltis offers a complete suite of services to clients, including serving as an ERISA Section 3(21) & 3(38) fiduciary, developing the Investment Policy Statements, plan design, plan benchmarking, vendor selection and investment management. In addition, Soltis provides employee participants with education and advice. Soltis provides consultative advice to plan sponsor fiduciaries as it relates to the company's defined benefit, defined contribution, profit sharing, and non-qualified plans. The firm is a leader in assisting plan sponsors in providing participants with services on their 401(k), 403(b), pension and profit sharing plans.
