Sen. Baldwin Issues Statement on Affordable Care Act

WASHINGTON, June 8 -- The office of Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisconsin, issued the following statement in response to the Trump administration's refusal to defend the key provisions of the Affordable Care Act:
"I was branded as a child with the words, 'pre-existing condition,' so I have worked to make sure that no family should have to choose between helping their child get better or going bankrupt. Congressional Republicans have tried to repeal health care coverage for Wisconsin families and the Trump Administration has sabotaged people's health care by raising costs.
"Now, Attorney General Sessions has gone to court in support of President Trump and Wisconsin's Governor and Attorney General to take away guaranteed protections and to raise costs for Americans with pre-existing conditions. The people of Wisconsin did not send me to Washington to take people's health care away and I will continue my fight against these relentless efforts to make things worse for Wisconsin families."
