Rep. Schrier Introduces Bill on Coverage for Services Furnished Via Telehealth

WASHINGTON, April 30 -- Rep. Kim Schrier, D-Wash., has introduced legislation (H.R. 6644) to "require group health plans and health insurance issuers offering group or individual health insurance coverage to provide coverage for services furnished via telehealth if such services would be covered if furnished in-person during the COVID-19 emergency."
The bill was introduced on April 28 and was co-sponsored by Reps. Phil Roe, R-Tenn., Joseph D. Morelle, D-N.Y., and Jeff Van Drew, D-N.J. It was jointly referred to the House Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Education and Labor committees.
