With his appointment to the Interstate Insurance Compact Commission, state Rep. Michael "Sarge" Pollock says he will strive "to ensure an effective regulatory process that benefits both customers and insurers."
The Insurance Compact focuses on the efficiency and effectiveness of the way insurance products are filed, reviewed and approved allowing consumers to have faster access to competitive insurance products, according to information from the Kentucky House Majority Caucus, which announced Pollock's new role.
Pollock currently serves as vice chair of the Kentucky House Standing Committee on Banking and Insurance and has been a proponent of policies that safeguard funds in Kentucky's banks, credit unions, and financial institutions while ensuring state laws effectively regulate the broad range of insurers operating in the state.
In addition, the Campbellsville Republican also serves as a member of the Agriculture Committee, Families and Children Committee, the Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee, and as co-chair of the Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight Committee. Pollock is also chair of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators Committee on Health and Long Term Care.
"As vice chair of the Kentucky House'sCommittee on Banking and Insurance and an insurance professional who prides himself on customer service, Rep. Pollock is a natural to represent the Commonwealth on this national committee," House Speaker David Osborne added. "I appreciate his willingness to serve and his commitment to shaping future insurance laws and consumer safeguards."
