Rep. Pascrell Issues Statement on Republican Health Care Bill
Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
WASHINGTON, March 7 -- Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-N.J., issued the following statement in response to the release of the Republican health care bill:
"Less coverage for Americans and more loopholes for insurance company executives, the long-awaited Republican bill is merely a tax-cut bill disguised as a health care plan. Higher costs for middle class families and cuts to health care for seniors and our most vulnerable.
"Raiding Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest Americans. A $170 billion cut from Medicare, shortening the life of the trust fund by two years.
"Meanwhile, this plan does nothing to tackle real health care issues, like the rise of monopolized providers or delivery system reforms. I'll be on the front lines in the Ways and Means Committee, fighting for all of New Jersey's residents, whose health care hangs in the balance."
