Rep. Neguse Introduces Bill on Coverage of Hearing Devices, Systems in Private Health Insurance Plans

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 -- Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Colo., has introduced legislation (H.R. 477) to amend the Public Health Service Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act "to require coverage of hearing devices and systems in certain private health insurance plans."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 25 and was co-sponsored by Reps. David B. McKinley, R-W.Va., and Mike Thompson, D-Calif. It was jointly referred to the House Energy and Commerce; Education and Labor; and Ways and Means committees.
