Rep. Luetkemeyer Introduces Bill to Repeal Mandatory Flood Insurance Coverage

WASHINGTON, May 1 -- Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-Mo., has introduced legislation (H.R. 2246) to "repeal the mandatory flood insurance coverage requirement for commercial properties located in flood hazard areas and to provide for greater transfer of risk under the National Flood Insurance Program to private capital and reinsurance markets."
The bill was introduced on April 28. It was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
