QUINCY, California, Oct. 16 -- Rep. Doug LaMalfa, R-California, issued the following news release:
Congressman Doug LaMalfa issued the following statement after President Trump amended the federal Major Disaster Declaration for California to include Lassen County, making them eligible for direct federal funding, including Individual and Public Assistance, to assist with disaster recovery following damage incurred by the North Complex.
The North Complex began on August 17th in Plumas National Forest. As of October 15th, the North Complex burned 318,000 acres and is 94% contained. ###
LaMalfa said: "This fire season, we have seen massive amounts of damage and devastation across the North State, including in Lassen County from the North Complex. Wildfire survivors will need all the help they can get to begin the rebuild process. The Trump Administration continues to stand with wildfire-stricken areas across California and has done so again by extending the Major Disaster Declaration to Lassen County. I appreciate the President's support for wildfire survivors by bringing this needed relief to our local governments, first responders, and families."
