Rep. Kiley Leads Congressional Opposition to Su as Nomination Falters

WASHINGTON, April 29 -- Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-California, issued the following news release on April 28, 2023:

"From allowing a staggering $32.6 billion in unemployment insurance fraud to occur on her watch to championing and aggressively enforcing AB 5 to destroy as many California livelihoods as possible, Julie Su has repeatedly disqualified herself from leading the U.S. Labor Department. Today, I led colleagues from across the country in sharing how a Su-led Labor Department will put the livelihoods of our constituents at risk. I urge the U.S. Senate to join the growing coalition of small businesses, independent contractors, and American workers in opposing Su's nomination." - Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.)

"Su's abysmal track record makes her wholly unqualified to head the U.S. Department of Labor. Under her tenure, California's Labor and Workforce Development Agency failed millions of the State's residents, squandered billions of taxpayer dollars, and crushed tens of thousands of livelihoods by pushing the disastrous AB 5 policy. Su also denied or delayed another five million legitimate unemployment insurance claims.
