GLEN ROCK, New Jersey, May 9 -- Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-New Jersey, issued the following news release:
This week, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) held a conference call with members of Fifth District Fire Departments and outlined his efforts in helping first responders, and highlighted the AFG supplemental funding program.
"One of my top priorities during this pandemic is making sure you have the supplies and equipment you need to do your job safely and effectively. You are our front liners and, every day, you're making sure people are safe and healthy and I want to thank you for that," said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). "In response to the coronavirus outbreak, I've fought for emergency grant investment for the Assistance for Firefighters Grant (AFG) program which allows Fire Departments to submit applications for the purchasing and reimbursement of the costs of PPE, such as gloves, masks, gowns, and decontamination supplies and services."
Gottheimer continued, "I want to thank you all for your time and the sacrifices you have made along the way to help our North Jersey community. We will get through this because of all your hard work and dedication."
If any Fifth District resident has questions regarding federal or state support, grants, and small business loans, or COVID-19 resources, please visit gottheimer.house.gov/coronavirus or email questions to [email protected].
