Reform Jewish Leader Opposes ‘Harmful’ Graham-Cassidy Health Care Bill
Targeted News Service
WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 -- The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism issued the following statement by Director Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner after the Senate debates on the Graham-Cassidy bill, the latest attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act:
"The latest attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act, introduced by Senators Cassidy and Graham, is yet another harmful proposal that would limit access to quality, affordable health care.
"By undoing the Medicaid expansion, transforming Medicaid into a per-capita cap program, and reducing consumer protections, the proposal will result in devastating losses of care for millions of Americans, especially the most vulnerable.
"During this High Holiday season, we pray for healing of the body and soul, and pray that Congress works to expand, not limit, access to care."
