QBE North America Employees Participate in Habitat for Humanity Panel Build

PR Newswire

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis., June 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, June 24, QBE North America employees located in the Sun Prairie, WI office participated in a panel build for Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. The build, held in the parking lot of the QBE campus, will help construct a new home for the Ramos/Ortiz family who are Sun Prairie locals.

"We are very excited to have partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to build this home for the Ramos/Ortiz family. As Sun Prairie's largest employer, we believe it's important to give back to our community, and allow our employees the time and opportunity to work together to make a difference outside of their work environment," said Michele Stanton, QBE Senior Vice President Enterprise Program Governance, who works from the QBE Sun Prairie office.

During the event, volunteers built all interior and exterior wall panels necessary for the home. Once construction was complete, Habitat for Humanity representatives transported the panels to the build site on Sweet Grass Drive in Sun Prairie.

"Community service is a very important part of the QBE culture. We encourage all of our employees to give back to their communities, even allowing for paid time off to be involved in volunteer activities. We are very proud of all our employees who participated in this event," said Daniel Franzetti, QBE Chief Claims Officer, who attended the panel build from Chicago.

QBE North America invests in local communities where its employees live and work. With a proud tradition of volunteering and funding local organizations and charities in Wisconsin through the QBE Foundation, employees decided to support Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to help provide affordable housing for a local family that may not otherwise be able to become homeowners.

Founded in 2011, the QBE Foundation funds charities that are nominated by employees to help people overcome disadvantages and strengthen their abilities to live more independently, successfully and productively.
