QBE North America appoints Jose Gonzalez Chief Legal Officer

NEW YORK, April 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- QBE North America announced the appointment of a new Chief Legal Officer, Jose Ramon Gonzalez who will provide expert guidance and oversight of our organization's complex legal, regulatory and compliance activity. His extensive background in insurance law affords him deep knowledge of this terrain both domestically and globally.
Jose's impressive credentials include, most recently, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Torus Insurance, Deputy General Counsel at Chartis Insurance, and Assistant General Counsel at AIG, among other leadership roles. Jose began practicing law as a corporate associate at the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, working in the firm's London and New York offices.
Jose attended the University of Pennsylvania, earned an LLM in European Union Law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and he earned his JD at Columbia Law School. Jose lives in Bergen County, NJ, with his wife, Christine and two teenage boys and will work out of QBE NA's headquarter office in New York reporting to the Chief Operating Officer Susan Harnett. Jose is of Latino decent and sits on the boards of directors of LatinoJustice PRLDF and ProjectExplorer.org.
