Protective Life Corporation Names Mary Pat Lawrence Senior Vice President, Government Affairs

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News -- Protective Life Corporation is pleased to announce that Mary Pat Lawrence has joined the Company as Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, effective September 10. In this position, Lawrence will play an instrumental role in Protective's state and federal legislative affairs, as well as regulatory matters.

Lawrence joins Protective from Allstate Insurance Company, where she served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, holding responsibility for legislative and regulatory affairs. In addition to managing Allstate's federal affairs office, she also represented the company in various industry associations, including the Financial Services Roundtable, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the American Council of Life Insurers.

Prior to joining Allstate, Lawrence was a Principal at Dentons US LLP where she co-managed the Advocacy team and was responsible for lobbying for a number of financial services, education and agriculture clients. Prior to her time at Dentons, she also served as an Associate Vice President at Van Scoyoc Associates. Lawrence is a graduate of The University of Alabama and The University of Alabama School of Law.
