"Preparing before the next storm hits is most important," said Jim Cantore, meteorologist and co-host of America's Morning Headquarters (AMHQ) on The Weather Channel. "The weather can be unpredictable, but is expected to remain active as we transition out of El Niño and into La Niña weather patterns. Floods are the most common and costly natural disaster in the United States. In fact, all 50 states have experienced a flood in the past five years. Between 2011 and 2015, flooding has caused more than $15 billion in property damage.
