BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ ProAssurance Corp. (PRA) on Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $32.1 million.
The Birmingham, Alabama-based company said it had profit of 59 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, were 62 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.
The medical professional liability insurer posted revenue of $313.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $294 million, also topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $269.7 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $144.1 million, or $2.67 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.05 billion.
