President Donald J. Trump Amends Puerto Rico Declaration

WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security'sFederal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release:
FEMA announced today that additional disaster assistance is available to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The assistance allows for additional federal funding for debris removal, emergency protective measures and direct federal assistance as a result of Hurricane Maria
On September 26, 2017, the President's authorized 100 percent federal cost share for debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct federal assistance, for 180 days from the start of the declaration beginning on September 17, 2017.
Today, the President's action authorizes an extension for 90 days, including direct federal assistance, for a 100 percent federal cost share for debris removal. In addition, an extension for 60 days, including direct federal assistance, for a 100 percent cost share for emergency protective measures is also granted.
