From the background information supplied by the inventors, news correspondents obtained the following quote: “At least some conventional computer networks have enabled caregivers (e.g., family members, friends, and care service providers) associated with senior users to coordinate care for the senior user. However, conventional systems usually merely keep a schedule of the coordinated care, and may not provide additional functionality. Further, known systems may not facilitate senior engagement in their daily schedules, and may therefore not provide information on such engagement to caregivers. Known systems may have other drawbacks as well.”

Supplementing the background information on this patent, NewsRx reporters also obtained the inventors’ summary information for this patent: “The present embodiments may relate to systems and methods for facilitating senior engagement in their daily schedules and coordinating care between caregivers of the senior. The system may include an engagement and care support computing device, one or more client devices, one or more third party servers, and/or one or more databases.

“In one aspect, a digital care circle platform for electronic communication between a senior and a plurality of virtual care circle members may be provided. The digital care circle platform may be within a virtual care circle, and the digital care circle platform may include (a) a chatbot associated with a senior, (b) an application associated with the senior, © a mobile application associated with the plurality of virtual care circle members, (d) at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device, and (e) one or more servers, sensors, wearables, and transceivers. The at least one processor and the one or more servers, wearables, and transceivers may be configured for wireless communication and data transmission over one or more radio frequency links at least one of between and among the chatbot and the application. The at least one processor may be configured to (i) accept event posts from the senior via the chatbot and application and from each virtual care circle member of the plurality of virtual care circle members via the mobile application, wherein the chatbot is configured to receive one or more audible or verbal commands from the senior, wherein the chatbot runs on a computing device of the senior, wherein the application at least one of electronically interacts with and communicates with the chatbot, wherein the application runs on the computing device of the senior, wherein the mobile application runs on a mobile device of each of the plurality of virtual care circle members, and wherein the mobile application is configured to electronically communicate with the chatbot and the application through at least one of wireless communication and data transmission over one or more radio frequency links, (ii) detect pro-active check-ins from the senior, wherein the pro-active check-ins are at least one of automatically detected and generated by the senior interacting with at least one of the chatbot and the application, and/or (iii) generate, once a pro-active check-in is detected, an electronic communication detailing the pro-active check-in as a pro-active check-in event, and transmit the pro-active check-in event to the virtual care circle members, wherein the transmitting is one of (i) automatically virtually posting the pro-active check-in event to a care circle feed accessed via the mobile application, and (ii) otherwise transmitting an electronic communication of the pro-active check-in event to the mobile application to facilitate providing communication on current activity of the senior to the virtual care circle members and providing quick check-in functionality for the senior. The digital care circle platform computer system may include additional, less, or alternate functionality, including that discussed elsewhere herein.

“In another aspect, a computer-implemented method for electronic communication between a senior and a plurality of virtual care circle members may be provided. The digital care circle platform may be within a virtual care circle, and the digital care circle platform may include (a) a chatbot associated with the senior, (b) an application associated with the senior, © a mobile application associated with the plurality of virtual care circle members, (d) at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device, and (e) one or more servers, sensors, wearables, and transceivers, wherein the at least one processor and the one or more servers, sensors, wearables, and transceivers may be configured for wireless communication and data transmission over one or more radio frequency links at least one of between and among the chatbot and the application. The computer-implemented method may include (i) receiving one or more audible or verbal commands from the senior via the chatbot, (ii) at least one of electronically interacting with and communicating with the chatbot via the application, the application running on a computing device of the senior, (iii) electronically communicating with the chatbot and the application via the mobile application running on a mobile device of each digital care circle, wherein the mobile application is configured to electronically communicate with the chatbot and the application through at least one of wireless communication and data transmission over one or more radio frequency links, (iv) at least one of electronically accepting and wirelessly receiving event posts from the senior via the chatbot and the application and from each digital care circle member via the mobile application, (v) detecting pro-active check-ins from the senior, wherein the pro-active check-ins are at least one of automatically detected and generated by the senior interacting with at least one of the chatbot and the application, and (vi) generating, once a pro-active check-in is detected, an electronic communication detailing the pro-active check-in as a pro-active check-in event, and transmit the pro-active check-in event to the digital care circle members, wherein the transmitting is one of (i) automatically virtually posting the pro-active check-in event to a care circle feed accessed via the mobile application, and (ii) otherwise transmitting an electronic communication of the pro-active check-in event to the mobile application to facilitate providing communication on current activity of the senior to the digital care circle members and providing quick check-in functionality for the senior. The method may include additional, less, or alternate actions, including those discussed elsewhere herein.

“In yet another aspect, a non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon may be provided. When executed by an engagement and care support platform (“ECSP”) computer system including a processor in communication with a memory device, the computer-executable instructions may cause the processor to: (i) register a user through an application, wherein the user inputs personal and scheduling data into the application, (ii) register a caregiver associated with the user through the application, (iii) generate a senior profile based upon the user personal and scheduling data, (iv) build a daily interactive user interface that reflects the senior profile, (v) display the daily interactive user interface at a first client device associated with the user, (vi) cause the first client device to initiate a daily interaction prompt to the user, (vii) determine whether any user interaction was received at the first client device in response to the daily interaction prompt, and/or (viii) transmit a daily update message to a second client device associated with the caregiver, the daily update message including an indication of whether any user interaction was received at the first client device. The computer-executable instructions may cause additional, less, or alternate functionality, including that discussed elsewhere herein.

“The Figures depict preferred embodiments for purposes of illustration only. One skilled in the art will readily recognize from the following discussion that alternative embodiments of the systems and methods illustrated herein may be employed without departing from the principles of the invention described herein.”
