Pa. Democratic Party Chair Groen Issues Statement on Health Care Bill
Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 24 -- The Pennsylvania Democratic Party issued the following statement by Chairman Marcel L. Groen on the pulled GOP Health Care Bill:
"Today, Republicans were forced to pull their disastrous health care repeal bill that would have resulted in a $3 billion cut to Medicaid in the commonwealth, stripped over one million Pennsylvanians of their health care, and charged older Pennsylvanians an unfair and outrageous age tax.
"This bill was pulled because people all throughout our commonwealth raised their voices. When our communities organize protests, hold rallies, and call and write their representatives, they make a difference in our democratic process. But we need to keep fighting until the Republican Party halts their crusade to repeal Affordable Care Act.
"It's time for Republicans to drop their political posturing and get to work on bettering the Affordable Care Act to increase access to care, drive down prices, and improve quality health care for all Pennsylvanians. Health care for our parents, children, and families is too important to be subject to political games. Pennsylvanians simply cannot afford to continue down the road of repealing the ACA."
