One Week Left to Register With FEMA for Mangkhut, Yutu Assistance

SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands, Jan. 17 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security'sFederal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release:
Residents of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands have one week left to register for federal disaster assistance for damage from Typhoon Mangkhut and Super Typhoon Yutu.
The deadline to register with FEMA is Jan. 27, 2019.
A FEMA registration has a nine-digit number. If you do not have the nine-digit number, you are not registered for federal assistance.
Those who suffered impacts to their primary residences and have not registered with FEMA may do so either of three ways:
The DRC located at the Multi-Purpose Center on Beach Road in Susupe, is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Closed on Sunday.
The DRC will be closed on Monday, Jan 21, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr, Holiday.
Please remember, applicants should have the following information at hand:
* Social Security number.
* Address of the damaged primary residence.
* Description of the damage.
* Information about insurance coverage if applicable.
* A current contact telephone number.
* An address where they can receive mail.
* Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of funds.
