Senator Denise Ricciardi (R-Bedford), issued the following statement today following her introduction of SB 286:
"New Hampshire has some of the highest health insurance premiums in the nation.
"These costs hurt our working families, make it harder for New Hampshire companies to attract employees and for our economy to thrive. SB 286 would bring more choice and competition to our health insurance marketplace by establishing a pilot program creating association health plans.
"Currently, small, and midsized companies and the self-employed do not have the option of pooling together to share their risks.
"An association health plan would allow them to do so and SB286 provides that excellent opportunity."
