N.H. Insurance Dept.: Releases Rental Insurance FAQ For College-Bound Consumers

CONCORD, New Hampshire, Aug. 19 -- The New Hampshire Department of Insurance issued the following news release on Aug. 18, 2023:

Today, the New Hampshire Insurance Department (NHID) reminds consumers of a rental advisory for Granite Staters to consider before taking their children back to school in a dormitory or college apartment.

"As the school year gets underway, we appreciate that Granite Staters are excited about important milestones in life," said Deputy Commissioner DJ Bettencourt. "Our department has some important insurance considerations to ensure that college or university is memorable in a positive way and does not result in undue financial stress."

This consumer advisory has important information for Granite Staters about understanding rental insurance. The NHID urges consumers to review this document for helpful tips and information.

"Our goal at the NHID is to help Granite Staters manage risk in a changing world," said James Fox, Property and Casualty Director at the NHID. "We urge consumers to review our rental insurance advisory so they can make the right insurance decisions when sending their kids off to college."
