MiniCo Insurance Agency Expands Collectibles Insurance Program to Include Jewelry and Watches through Collaboration with AXA ART Americas

PR Web

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 09, 2016

MiniCo Insurance Agency, in collaboration with fine art insurance specialist AXA ART Americas Corporation, has broadened its collectibles insurance program to offer expanded coverage of up to $250,000 in jewelry and watches. The enhanced offering represents a significant expansion to the MiniCo Collectibles Insurance program, which was launched in 2011.

Specific items eligible for coverage include antique and designer gemstones, pearls, bracelets, charms, earrings, necklaces, pendants, and rings and watches comprised of silver, gold, platinum and/or other precious metals or alloys. Watches include vintage, collectible and everyday time pieces worn on the wrist, as a necklace or in a pocket. Under this program, mysterious disappearance is an included risk, and coverage travels with the policyholder worldwide. No appraisal is required at application for pieces valued less than $50,000, and a no deductible option is also available.

In conjunction with this coverage enhancement, MiniCo has added a direct-to-consumer quoting portal to its website. Independent insurance agents as well as individual collectors may request premium quotations online at http://www.minico.com/collectibles-insurance.

MiniCo Collectibles Insurance is offered nationwide in partnership with fine art insurance specialist AXA ART Americas, which offers tailor-made coverage solutions for private and corporate collections, museums, galleries and artists. AXA Insurance Company, which has been assigned a rating of "A" (Excellent) by A.M. Best, underwrites the specialty policies.

Jim Henry, MiniCo's Chief Underwriting Officer, said, "Coverage for jewelry and watches has been requested by numerous independent insurance agents and individual collectors since the launch of the MiniCo Collectibles Insurance program." He continued, "The demand for this category of coverage is considerable, and we are excited to make it available through a carrier with an A.M. Best 'A' rating."

MiniCo President and CEO Mike Schofield commented, "This expansion of the fine art and collectibles insurance program includes valuable benefits and ease of use for collectors, and provides enhanced opportunities for independent insurance agents to offer the coverage to their personal lines clients."

"From watches to bracelets to precious gems, jewelry and watches have represented family heirlooms, served as personal adornment, and comprised part of clients' private assets," remarked Robert Pittinger, AXA ART Americas Corporation Senior Vice President, Director of Underwriting. He continued, "AXA ART recognizes the significance of jewelry and watches to collectors and is pleased to work with MiniCo to offer solutions to protect these valuable objects to be enjoyed well into the future."
