MetroPlus Health Plan Announces New Community Locations in Three Boroughs

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Managed Care Weekly Digest -- MetroPlus Health Plan announced that it is opening new community locations in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. The three sites will serve as resource centers for New Yorkers to get answers to health insurance program questions and receive assistance to enroll in plans such as Child Health Plus, Medicaid, Qualified Health Plans and the Essential Plan (see also MetroPlus Health Plan).

In Queens, the Flushing Skyview Mall will feature a MetroPlus kiosk to help people find out if they are eligible for no-cost or low-cost health insurance. A second kiosk will offer similar options at the Staten Island Mall, the borough's first MetroPlus location. And in Brooklyn, a new MetroPlus community office has just opened in Sunset Park.

"We are delighted to be expanding our reach even further into the communities we serve," said Seth Diamond, Chief Operating Officer of MetroPlus. "Being able to talk to a health care representative in your own neighborhood while you're out taking care of all the things busy New Yorkers need to get done is a great convenience for people, as we have witnessed by the popularity of our other community offices," he added. He notes that there are now over 20 such sites throughout the five boroughs.

Health care specialists who speak English, Chinese, Spanish, and a number of other languages are available at most MetroPlus community locations.
