Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $1.1 Billion

For the drawing on Tuesday night, the Mega Millions jackpot has a cash value of $576.8 million or an estimated annuity value of $1.1 billion, according to Pennsylvania Lottery officials.

State lottery officials said the jackpot is the third-largest prize in the history of the game.

The jackpot has been growing ever since it was last claimed on October 14, 2022, when tickets purchased in Florida and California shared a $502 million prize.

"If you're planning to play, remember that Mega Millions ticket sales in Pennsylvania end at 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights, which are held Tuesday and Friday," said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. "We're reminding our players that it only takes one ticket to win, and the proceeds are helping us generate funds for programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians."

This most recent jackpot run in Pennsylvania has brought in more than $70.5 million in revenue, making a profit of more than $28.2 million that will help senior citizens, according to the lottery.

Mega Millions tickets were being sold in Pennsylvania as of Tuesday afternoon at a rate of more than 3,700 per minute, or an estimated rate of more than $8,200 in revenue per minute, officials said.

If no one wins the Mega Millions on Tuesday night's drawing, the anticipated jackpot for the drawing on Friday will be $1.35 billion or $707.9 million in cash.

The record Mega Millions jackpot is $1.537 billion. The winning ticket was sold in South Carolina on October 23, 2018. The last time a Mega Millions jackpot was won in Pennsylvania was on May 21, 2021. It was sold at a store on Trenton Road in Middletown Township's Levittown and split between five people.

Mega Millions will be sold until 9:59 p.m. Tuesday, and the drawing will be aired at 11 p.m. on Fox 29.
