Medicare Beneficiaries Can Explore Coverage Options During Free October 23 “Medicare Shop & Compare”

PR Newswire

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Medicare beneficiaries who want help as they navigate through the complexities of Medicare enrollment are encouraged to attend the "Medicare Shop & Compare" expo, 4 to 8 p.m., October 23, 2018, at the Villa Milano, 1630 Schrock Road, Westerville. The event is free and will help provide background on 2019 Medicare options, including Medicare Advantage plans.

The expo will include light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the "Columbus 60 Strong Ambassadors," inspirational Columbus-area residents in their sixties who will be featured in an exclusive 2019 calendar highlighting landmarks, entertainment and activities around Central Ohio. The calendar also includes health tips and important Medicare enrollment dates.

The Columbus 60 Strong Ambassadors are:

  • Kathleen Dougherty
  • Bill Davidge
  • Ruth Ann Harris
  • Maude Hill
  • Becky Murray
  • Kenneth Neuhart
  • Carol Owen
  • Steve and Faye Ruffing
  • John Swain
  • Deborah Vaughn
  • Rosemary Walton
  • Jerry Yarov

The 60 Strong Ambassadors are remarkable people who practice healthy lifestyles and give back to the community in a variety of ways.

Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is hosting the event and will have representatives available to answer questions about the new COPC Senior Care Advantage program. COPC Senior Care Advantage provides access to wellness and health education services and care coordination resources when needed.

Between October 15 and December 7, Medicare beneficiaries have the opportunity to explore and choose 2019 Medicare coverage. The choices include traditional Medicare or Medicare Advantage. The Medicare Advantage plans, which generally provide additional benefits such as prescription drug coverage, are offered by health insurance companies that contract with Medicare. About Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC)
Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is the largest physician-owned primary care medical group in the United States. COPC was established in 1996 when a group of 33 physicians chose to focus more on the quality of patient care they were providing and less on the administrative paperwork.
