PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) _ MBIA Inc. (MBI) on Tuesday reported a loss of $170 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Purchase, New York-based company said it had a loss of $2.02. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 90 cents per share.
The insurance and reinsurance company posted revenue of $30 million in the period.
MBIA shares have climbed roughly 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $9.33, a drop of 10% in the last 12 months.
